Consequently, transformational leaders take on the responsibility of reinterpreting the old social, cultural, and historical context in a new spiritual and practical way. This research project explores the experiences of fourth-year students in the ministerial training program in the African Methodist Episcopal Church. The study strongly indicates the need for revision and revitalization in the ministerial training program."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Columbia Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["b5eba5c2-141b-4673-9689-2f9720736859"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791128282837549056,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T06:57:20.731Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T13:52:39Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T06:47:43Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"1e071bb8-5d89-4dd1-ac75-280b19577f02","accessControl_ssim":["bd6b86c7-3d60-4fc8-bbe8-03eb4ab45cfa"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Strategizing leadership for an African Methodist Episcopal church plant"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T13:52:38Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-16T23:01:11Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["f9b0c718-9ed8-42d2-94f3-20b6b3b4dfe5"],"hasLease_ssim":["1e1e8deb-71b6-4ed8-89eb-d9324e9f4690"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Columbia Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Jeffery L Tribble"],"year_tesim":["2011"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Darlene M Barr"],"publisher_tesim":["Columbia Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["African Methodist Episcopal Church","Church development, New"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["A new church planter needs a strategic plan that has both the spiritual and business dimensions. Both males and females have contributed to that rich tradition; however, there has been an unjust trend in which women preachers are relegated to small churches and/or dysfunctional churches. A dialectic tension has erupted between the women preachers in the African Methodist Episcopal Church and the cost they have paid to fulfill God's calling. Because of this phenomenon, their preaching voice has been under-developed and in need of nurturing. In this work, the author explores how the voices of women preachers from the nineteenth and twentieth centuries will help to nurture and empower twenty-first century prophetic women preachers in the African Methodist Episcopal church."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Wesley Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["5a6e4a36-5801-4bff-8e61-86d7489efb4a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791124984704270336,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T06:04:55.386Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T12:54:34Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T02:30:31Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"0fd6b244-3710-40d7-8867-23e8b58412f4","accessControl_ssim":["b9eec0b2-2f5a-40ae-a333-17b79144a87a"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["The altar: tradition and transformation"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T12:54:33Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-16T22:34:29Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["c0b8bba6-b0b9-4651-9f63-9ef9467757a1"],"hasLease_ssim":["81654ca0-77fa-4781-8364-20a594a9b548"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Doctor of Ministry"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Wesley Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Lewis A Parks"],"year_tesim":["2008"],"resource_type_tesim":["D.Min.
