The project sought to motivate present church members to be intentional about including new members.  The Sunday worshipping congregation was included through presentation of related topics. Membership classes addressed strengths and differences between people of urban and rural backgrounds.  The church programming board created assisting strategies to integrate new members.  The report outlines biblical and theological bases for integrating newcomers, with sermon and class content suggestions. A sermon series identifying what constitutes active church membership was presented to the congregation; a pretest-posttest opinionnaire was used to determine its effectiveness.  The author developed a model encourager program which included a membership committee and an eight-session encourager training course.  The effectiveness of the course was measured by the experimental method. The project director used an experimental method of research with an experimental and control group.  The director used eleven teaching sessions, eight doctrinal sermons, and a pre-test/post-test to accomplish the goal. The objective is to evaluate the thesis that seasonal residents will increase involvement in the life of the congregation as meaningful relationships are established, and as they are made to feel a part of the congregation.  To test the thesis a model of ministry is developed, tested, and evaluated.  The results indicate the validity of the thesis.
