The congregation is multi-generational, traditional and yet open to change. This thesis challenges the preacher to consider what it means to preach purpose driven sermons. Further, it asks the question of whether or not the use of multimedia enhances the listener's sense of understanding God's purpose for their life. This project uses multiple feedback loops to demonstrate the congregation's awareness of its purpose and the impact the use of multimedia has in discerning its purpose and any growth therein. The project endeavors to alter these attitudes by providing a theological framework for reclaiming inactive members, based on Jesus' parables in Luke 15, and by promoting and implementing the Family Reunion Reclamation Project. The project concentrates on measuring change in attitude of leaders who become involved in a reclamation ministry.  The methodology, materials, and results are reported and documented. Eighty students were placed in tutoring situations in public schools in Cincinnati, Ohio.  They tutored grade-school students for two hours or more a week for 12 weeks.  The three months of contact did not improve racial attitudes because the students already had good attitudes. Four films were used to deal with four topics. The films were: When Harry Met Sally, Driving Miss Daisy, Ordinary People, and Terms of Endearment.  The films chosen dealt with human sexuality, racism, dysfunctional families, and death, respectively.  Biblical research was done in the area of the church and images.  Sociological and psychological research was done related to students and the four topics.  Testing was done with a control group of 12 students and a group of at-large students. The secondary goal was to discover significant elements in the experience for the purpose of redesigning the event so that the potential for Christian growth might be maximized.  The first learning was that the measurement of significant changes in Christian maturity requires a longer period of time than a one week experience.  The second learning was the surprise: participants dislearned.  They were apparently less sure of answers to questions after the event than they were before it.  The project demonstrated for Presbyterian Border Ministry some of the ways in which its immersion events are flawed. To increase their personal and structural awareness of sexism, a method of theological reflection on sexism and ministry was designed and used. The qualitative and feminist research methodology gathered data by means of field notes, journals, evaluations and presentations of the theological reflection method. Consciousness, theology and behaviour were manifestly altered in each of the four seminarians. The Firstborn of all creation suffers today in the devastation of the planet.  To preach on the Passion a preacher requires a perspective transformation.  A perspective transformation is a form of adult learning in which people come to realize the limitations of their culturally induced and taken-for-granted world view and then take action to change it.  In a series of meetings using a method of qualitative research of a phenomenological nature, the author discovered that it is possible to facilitate a perspective transformation from mechanistic to an organicist world view.
