The first step involved research of FBCS’s Annual Church Profile to determine attendance trends from 2013 to 2022. The project director then surveyed selected church leaders to determine the current state of discipleship within FBCS.\r\n\r\nThe project director researched literature and existing disciple-making models and methods to discover the best practices for FBCS. The project director then selected a student and adult disciple-making strategy team to whom results of research were presented. The project director collected data and developed adult lifestyle profiles for the church and its ministry area. The project director used the profiles to lead the disciple-making strategy team to assess the effectiveness of the church’s current disciple-making strategy. The project researched adult disciplemaking and adult disciple-making strategies, examined existing models of adult disciplemaking, and surveyed leaders from a select group of churches to develop a list of best practices for Calvary. The project director then formed a disciple-making strategy team by selecting and training thirteen members from the church. The project director led the team through six training sessions to develop an adult disciple-making strategy for Calvary. The project director and the team presented the strategy to the church elders for approval. The elders approved the strategy and recommended it to the church for adoption. Utilizing the equipping model, the project director equipped selected members of Covenant Baptist Church with the necessary skills to make personal spiritual intimacy practices an integral part of their relationship with God. The project director researched the field of spiritual disciplines and determined essential personal spiritual intimacy practices: Bible reading, prayer, and solitude. The project director developed a curriculum that was designed to take the selected group of church members through an equipping workshop. He evaluated the effectiveness of the workshop in addressing the cognitive, psychomotor, and affective domains of learning utilizing a pretest, a posttest, a self-report questionnaire, and an opportunity for reflections. The project director accomplished this project in four phases. The first phase explored the demographics of Jena, Louisiana, in order to identify existing ministry needs. The second phase explored existing models of evangelism in order to identify best practices. From the study of the demographics and the existing models of evangelism, the project director selected and trained specific church members to serve as the strategy development team. The project director and the strategy development team designed an evangelism strategy for TBC based on the first two phases. Finally, the project director presented the strategy to the membership of TBC\r\nfor approval. The project director defines success for the associational missionary by assisting churches in the association with accomplishing the kingdom challenges they understand to have been commanded through Scripture. A result of this project director's work is the creation of a simple, short-term clarifying process for strategy development, specifically for rural associations. The project director explored demographics and the biblical, doctrinal foundations for strategic planning in phase one. Phase two contained the research and evaluation of existing alternative programs and best practices for strategic planning. I first determined MCBC’s current discipleship practices by means of a Spiritual Growth Assessment and then compared those current practices with existing discipleship strategies to identify the best discipleship practices. I then created a strategy team composed of church members of various ages and their purpose was to discover the best discipleship strategy for the church based on the best discipleship practices identified. The strategy was thenpresented before the church for approval. The project director accomplished this in four steps. Step one was to gather the demographics of Lee County, Alabama, to better understand the need for age-graded discipleship. Step two was to explore the existing models and methods of discipleship to find best practices. Step three was to develop a discipleship strategy for the NextGen ministries at First Baptist Church of Opelika. A strategic planning team was used to develop the strategy. At the conclusion of step three,a comprehensive strategy, including a mission statement, vision, core values, milestones,and key events, was developed. The final step was to present the strategy to the Executive Team at First Baptist Church of Opelika for evaluation. The project director researched demographics for thecommunity which resulted in a report of areas of focus for evangelism. An internal auditof the congregation was conducted alongside the church’s ten-year Annual ChurchProfile data resulting in a report of areas of focus for discipleship. The project directordeveloped an annotated bibliography and report of best practices after conductingresearch in the field of disciple making. The reports of areas of focus and best practiceswere used to lead the Libby Baptist Church leadership team to develop a strategy fordisciple making.
