As such, \r\npastors and ministry leaders must be doctrinally and scripturally equipped so that they may, in turn, teach key doctrinal competency skills to their respective congregations. The purpose of this equipping project was to highlight the need  for sound biblical doctrines with a selected group of Florida Southern Baptist Haitian pastors. I designed this project to expose the danger that exists in churches where congregants are not well-equipped on essential biblical doctrines. Many benefits result from churches where the leaders and \r\ncongregants are well-versed and equipped in sound doctrines. On November 23, 2024, twelve Southern Baptist Haitian pastors in Miami, Florida, participated in equipping sessions. The purpose of the equipping sessions was to expose the selected pastors to key Baptist doctrines as highlighted in The 2000 Baptist Faith and Message. After successful implementation of the project, a posttest administered to the select group of pastors evidenced growth in knowledge of essential doctrinal competencies. The project's first phase involved an external demographic study of Kingsley Lake, Florida, as well as an internal demographic study of Kingsley Lake Baptist Church to determine the composition of men in the church and its surrounding community. I identified the men’s discipleship needs using demographic studies and a spiritual health assessment. In the second phase, I explored existing discipleship models to identify best practices for men’s discipleship. The project’s third phase focused on developing the final men’s discipleship strategy. I assembled and trained a strategy planning team of eight men to assist in developing the men’s discipleship strategy. The project consisted of four stages: (1) exploring the internal demographics, (2) exploring existing models, (3) creating a strategy, and (4) presenting a new strategy for implementation. In  the first stage, I explored the internal demographics of Derma Baptist Church to establish discipleship effectiveness. I explored, in the second stage, existing strategy models of discipleship to discover the best practices for development and implementation of a new strategy. Stage three consisted of development of  the various stages of the new strategy. In stage three, members of Derma Baptist Church were selected and trained using collected data to move toward the completed strategy. My project utilized the Preaching Skills Enhancement Model found in the DMin Handbook at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. The research phase produced an annotated bibliography of selected works in the field of leadership and an executive summary of selected biblical leadership concepts. Dr. Ray Van Neste evaluated both the annotated bibliography and the executive summary. During the second phase of the project, I developed a five-part sermon series to teach on God’s design for leadership. During the final phase, I preached the sermon series at Summertown Baptist Church, Summertown, Tennessee. Two expert preaching evaluators evaluated the sermon series. The people of God in the Old Testament kept God’s Word at the forefront of their minds and “taught God’s Word diligently” (Deut. 6:6-7). In the New Testament, the “people devoted themselves to the apostles teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers” (Acts 2:42). The project determined the best practices for organizational growth and equipped Sunday school leaders with growth skills. To succeed in this purpose, I researched the field of discipleship to gain a foundational understanding of biblical discipleship. I examined demographic trends concerning current and upcoming generations of college-aged adults and distilled four competencies to effectively disciple college-aged believers. The competencies were framed within and expounded upon through the lens of First Baptist Church of Tuscaloosa, Alabama’s mission statement. Subsequently, I developed and implemented a four-week curriculum to equip selected adults to disciple college-aged adults. I employed evaluative measures to assess participants’ progress in the identified discipleship competencies. To accomplish this task, I researched the field of adult\r\ndisciple-making using the John T. Christian Library, my own library, seminar lecture notes, and notes taken at the 2022 Discipleship.org conference held in Nashville, Tennessee. In consultation with experts in the field of discipleship, I created an annotated bibliography of the most relevant resources germane to the project. From this research, I\r\ndesigned a leadership training course to equip Ascension campus church leaders in the best practices for disciple-making in small, closed, gender-based discipleship groups. To ensure the quality of the project, experts evaluated each goal product. The project began with faith formation research to discover faith transmission skills. The research included books, other ministries, and students and young adults in the ministry setting who continue to be active in their faith.\r\n\r\nThe next step was developing a curriculum to equip selected parents of Judson Baptist Church, Walker, Louisiana, in faith transmission skills. The curriculum came from the research conducted in the previous step. To help me gain skills in curriculum writing, I completed the book Design for Teaching and Training by LeRoy Ford. The new skills, combined with the knowledge gained from the research, resulted in a curriculum.\r\n\r\nThe last step was equipping selected parents of Judson Baptist Church, Walker, Louisiana, in faith transmission skills. The parents were taught using cognitive, psychomotor, and affective learning.
