The young congregation developed as a 'covenant community' in the midst of many conflicting forces.  The congregation is analyzed through a review of the tenure and style of two pastors critical to the nature of the developing congregation. Many current programs and activities are based upon historical traditions.  The author saw a need to evaluate present procedures in the light of history feeling that such a study would reveal any effective or fragmented practices and policies, strengthen the present ministry, and contribute to the design of future strategy.  After reading extensively in the areas of biblical and theological foundations for missions, missiology, historiography and Spanish history, the author thoroughly investigated the records, minutes, documents and archives of the Baptist mission to Spain and interviewed missionaries and Spaniards having a personal knowledge of the history of the mission.  Letters and documents were obtained from other religious agencies. The research was done via questionnaires and a personal visit to each church by the author.  It revealed that there were growing Baptist churches in all four states.  Fifteen characteristics were readily acknowledged as significant in these churches and their growth. A caring seminar was developed and conducted in three North American Baptist churches of Alberta, Canada.  Ideas from current caring resources were presented by the leader. Participants explored and evaluated their personal and church caring by means of questionnaires, one on one fellowship, and small group sharing.  They also evaluated the seminar by a feedback form. The author researched and validated the centrality of preaching in the Baptist churches and shows that although Baptist theology of Scripture is high, it is characterized by narrowness seen in the use of favorite Scripture themes and biblical books.  He researched Baptist pulpit giants and states their method of text selection of waiting upon the Holy Spirit.
