Beginning with an historical overview of similar claims in church history, the project evaluates the biblical bases posited for these claims, raising awareness of the issues and making suggestions for responses to them. Southern Baptist churches have a special vulnerability in conflict situations, in that the polity by which they operate precludes outside ecclesiastical intervention. The purpose of this project is to suggest that churches place in their constitutions and bylaws an agreed-upon-in-advance procedure for conflict management and resolution.  By processing the potential for conflict and developing procedures to address it, valuable time and precious fellowship can be conserved. Literary research examined the holistic evangelistic ministries of Jesus, Francis of Assisi, John Wesley, and C E Matthews, and holistic evangelism in the New Testament.  Social research involved a sermon series, weekend retreat lessons, and annual planning classes. Two ministry emphases were utilized.  A seven-sermon series was preached October-November of 1989.  An urban evangelism workshop was conducted in December 1989, and again in February 1990.  All ministry activities were evaluated through participant questionnaires. Chapter 3 analyzed the actual implementation of the project.  The fourth chapter served as an evaluation of the entire project. While previous generations took religious affiliation for granted, the postwar generation shows significant differences with the preceding generations.  This fact became obvious when the postwar generation involvement with the church declined during their adolescence and early adulthood.  For this and other reasons, the postwar generation poses unique problems which an orientation must address. The project was implemented through a twelve-week divorce recovery workshop, utilizing both outside professional consultants as well as internal pastoral leadership. The study involved use of a two group pretest/posttest to test for knowledge gain as well as three spiritual gift inventories.  Attitude change was measured by use of a semantic differential constructed for this project.  A focused interview was also conducted with small group participants.  The result of the project showed some significant change in attitude toward ministry involvement in those who understood themselves as gifted for ministry.
