The methodology used was the Proactive Research Method which pro-actively worked toward a transformation of their behavior as noted thorugh qualitative data. It was found that by utilizing several techniques addressed in this project their quality of life was improved as a result of 'spiritual' education and positive 'spiritual' practices. The results of the study suggest that chaplains may have a role in helping patients address their unresolved forgiveness issues and lowered motivation by helping the patients work through a forgiveness process.  For patients with conditions caused at least in part by their own behavior, or even by someone else, offers case studies of pastoral care provided in light of unresolved forgiveness issues and a working through of a forgiveness process. Typical reactions to conflict in the church are usually dysfunctional and often destructive.  An understanding of the dynamics of conflict and the conflict management options available helps one see which behavioral choices may be destructive and which may be constructive. Preconceived notions that conflict is bad are stated and revised in the context of the Christian faith and the scriptural witness. The author attempts to identify various aspects of the evangelistic task from which specific component skills are extrapolated.  Measurements are accomplished by the use of performance observation and by a pre-test and post-test in the form of a semantic differential taken by participants and two control groups. The manual which was developed for this purpose was tested at the Salvation Army School for Officers' Training in Chicago, Illinois.  The manual was divided into three sections: 1. development of interpersonal relations; 2. a theological perspective of personality development; and 3. sources for dealing with behavioral difficulties.  The participants consisted of a group of thirteen students who had completed the prerequisite course in Introduction to Psychology and were in their final year of training.  They completed two examinations and several evaluation forms that provided data for the write-up of the project.  Other participants included five outside readers who made observations of the manual from the perspective of their particular expertise. The evaluation indicated a positive experience for all with the recommendation that the program be developed further and
