The author collected data on culture, leadership. orality, oral communicators, and narrative learning.  She conducted interviews to document critical incidents and develop them into stories. The research, following a literature review, engaged qualitative methodology through personal interviews guided by four research questions. These questions explored the participants' beliefs about inerrancy, their approaches to difficult texts, their methods of interpretation which were largely individualistic, and their reliance upon God's guidance in understanding texts.
