Lectio divina in its classic medieval, monastic form consisted of reading, meditation, prayer, and contemplation of the Scriptures. This classic approach, with the additional elements of journal keeping, the use of the Jesus Prayer, and the Jungian concept of 'active imagination' was taught to a group of six lay Episcopalians over a six-week period. First, the New Testament was read chronologically beginning with the Book of Acts.  As a problem was discovered it was listed along with its scripture reference. The list was then arranged in tabular form to give an overview of major problems.  Second, the problems dealt with by each church were divided into chapters by the different churches.  Third, each problem was dealt with in order to learn the symptom(s), source(s), and solution as noted in scripture.  Homiletical aids were suggested for each problem in order to facilitate their use in preaching, teaching or counseling.  A valuable discovery was to note the symptoms and biblical solutions which can still be useful to local churches today.  It was also found that the local churches of today face most if not all of the same types of problems. A seminar presented spiritual growth insights from developmental psychology and encouraged small-group interaction about these concepts to help Christians re-examine their own spiritual progress, develop new understanding of biblical and Christian ideas about spiritual growth, and plan intentionally for their own continuing spiritual growth. It explores the distinctive nature, the bondage and liberation of man according to this Hindu philosophical view and Christianity.  The former maintains the unity of the essential self and brahman, the ill consequences of Avidya and Karma and the way of freedom through Moksha.  The latter teaches that man, the creature, estranged and enslaved in sin, is distinct from God, the creator, but he through faith can be reconciled to God by the death of Christ on the cross. She then examined personnel structures from this retrospective stance.  She drew conclusions pertaining to each department which will promote care of personnel and accomplishment of the task for which the mission exists--Bible translation.  The author concludes that the organization's low termination rate (1.296 percent) highlights their current proactive management procedures. The great majority of them are neither read nor used by children.  Part One is an overview of the failure of these efforts, looking at four major considerations: graphic appeal, communication, education, and reader visualization.  Part Two presents a fresh translation of the Gospel of Mark from Koine Greek into 'Children's English'.  The author offers it as a prototype for what is intended to become a more exhaustive product: a complete Children's Bible that works. Using a phenomenological approach, he compares and contrasts his lectionary usage within this church to both his own formulations upon proper lectionary usage and systematic usage of the Bible in worship in the early Lutheran, Reformed, and Anglican traditions.  As a theoretical base the author assumes a 'subjectivity of knowing' foundation. Based upon this foundation, the author devises a method of analysis employing an 'integrative matrix', consisting of 'perceiving', 'describing', 'conceiving', and 'communicating'. The purpose was to improve faith resources for contemporary Christians.  In a series of ten lessons the project presented biographical statements and spiritually relevant issues.  A seven step decision-making process was the uniting theme.  Methods employed were sermons, pictures, role-playing, discussion, pre- and post-tests, and evaluation questionnaires.
