The course, entitled, 'Women and Jesus, Women and Paul,' is an attempt, using the historical-critical method of biblical scholarship, to trace the growth of misogynism, both biblical and societal, from its origin in Greek philosophy, to its culmination in the pastoral epistles. In the process, the example and teachings of Jesus are studied, as well as the writings of the Pauline corpus, both authentic and pseudo.  The content of the research is extensively detailed, and the method of instruction outlined and discussed. This paper applies hermeneutics to the parish using the context of the Kerygma Bible Study program.  Extensive hermeneutical research was done, especially emphasizing the writings of James A Sanders.  Liberation and feminist hermeneutics also were discussed.
