The author compared and contrasted the effectiveness of inductive, narrative and deductive, didactic preaching upon listener retention in a Chinese church. The author preached four Old Testament sermons and four New Testament sermons in his church. The participants received a quiz to be completed immediately following each sermon. The results indicated that there was little difference between Old and New Testament sermons on participants' memory retention.
