The assumption that underlies the project is that if teachers can experience intersection between personal story, personal experience, the biblical story, and faith community experience, to tell one will be to tell the other. As a result, the Bible will become biographical, which makes it easier to communicate. Teaching then will be discernibly different in the church education experience. The project was a six-week teacher education experience for mid-high teachers that utilized denominational materials as the primary resource. The findings supported the primary assumptions: teaching was conducted in a different manner and mid-high pupils experienced a renewed enthusiasm for Bible study."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Perkins School of Theology"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["9d359def-dc0f-4ac7-a978-8df771bc0984"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791127248009428992,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T06:40:53.842Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:34:51Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:58:50Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"64b20e3b-6567-451a-b445-f6ba24035bcb","accessControl_ssim":["8f7f1e1e-0375-430c-8a89-d81b5e4404f0"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["The biblical sage as paradigm for the practice of campus ministry"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:34:50Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T01:04:45Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["1723eaef-6390-4600-83ff-54b289b18ddc"],"hasLease_ssim":["9acc291e-cfe6-4b86-893d-54e3a330e925"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Western Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["I John Hesselink"],"year_tesim":["1987"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Sherwin J Broersma"],"keyword_tesim":["Campus ministry","Religious surveys"],"publisher_tesim":["Western Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Wisdom--Biblical teaching","College chaplains","Bible--Study"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The work proposes the biblical sage as a paradigm for the practice of campus ministry. It examines the identity, theology, authority and function of the sage in the Old Testament and the wisdom genre in the New Testament. For followers of Wesley the Bible is the Word of God in human words. But, its purpose is not fundamentally to show contradiction between humans and God. Its fundamental purpose is to show how people may become God-like in this life. The role of scripture is to encourage us to be Christ-like without denying the sinfulness of our nature apart from grace. This ministry project develops a Bible study program which reflects a Wesleyan view of the nature and role of scripture. Biblical insights on leadership and character are examined. The author interviews contemporary Christian leaders in every geographical region in the United States. Three of the fifteen questions discussed in selected interviews are evaluated carefully in this study. These questions cover moral failure, moral precautions and personal integrity. Responses to a fourth question which relates to servant leadership are woven into chapters four and five. Explanations are given for why many Christian leaders fail in the ministry. Suggestions are given regarding moral precautions for persons in ministry. The interviews show a strong conviction that personal honesty is directly related to moral purity. Christian leaders are encouraged to be men and women who are committed to godly character. The very heart of biblical leadership is centered around holy living."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Western Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["910240dd-6bfb-49cb-ab06-1b8de036aac8"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791132070819397633,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:57:33.232Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:19:59Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T02:33:35Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"ad44edba-70df-4b23-82d1-3674dc1aa6af","accessControl_ssim":["a0a1ca97-83f1-4b7f-8466-457d43e6bd22"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Teaching biblical concepts through creative drama"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:19:59Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T03:08:07Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["d26374a5-f2ff-48a5-9b78-48dfed3aeeda"],"hasLease_ssim":["0fb058ee-4759-4a83-b6a5-ffa7578808eb"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Boston University"],"advisor_tesim":["John W Ward"],"year_tesim":["1987"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Ronald L Huff"],"publisher_tesim":["Boston University School of Theology"],"subject_tesim":["Church work with children","Children's plays","Religion and drama","Christian education--Teaching methods","Bible--Study"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This project tested the feasibility of teaching children biblical content through an experiential learning theory.
