Members of the Bible study group grew spiritually and attained a sense of belonging and connectedness as they shared beliefs, experiences, values, and needs. Various methods of teaching the Bible to adults were researched. Several methods were selected for further research.  A workshop was developed to equip the adult Bible study leaders in these selected methods.  The adult Bible study leaders then participated in this workshop.  The workshop consisted of six hours of group training in six sessions. When all three of these components become daily repeated experiences the believers are assimilated. This project has four main components. First, a biblical study intended to determine the biblical assimilation principles that effectually work in believers' lives. Second, a literature study to discover the theological factors that affect the assimilation process of believers into the functioning body. Third, two case studies of American leading churches through survey questionnaires and onsite interviews and observation. Fourth, the results of the studies are the functional factors in formulating the assimilation principles for the Chinese Bible Church of Jakarta, Indonesia. From the assimilation and church growth literature review and the biblical study ten significant assimilation principles were selected for this study. Each principle was present in the first century church (Acts 2:42-47) and in the life of Christ.
