It is concerned with questions related to the emergence of the postmodern worldview, the impact of the postmodern worldview on the emerging generations, and the development of a biblically based missiological paradigm for understanding, engaging, and reaching a culture shaped by this worldview.  The study examines the mission field of the emerging generations, their postmodern worldview, and how that worldview shapes their lives.  The study continues with an examination of culture along with a biblical theology of understanding and engaging culture. The study lays out a biblical paradigm for engaging the postmodern generations that is based on the Apostle Paul's engagement with the pagan Athenian culture in Acts 17. The author led the team members through a simplified strategic planning process, from scripture, to values, to ministries, to preliminary plans for implementing those ministries. The author verified his thesis, through quantitative and qualitative measurements. The team members' mindsets were changed through the process. To accurately draw out an author's intended meaning in scripture, one must apply a responsible interpretive process to its language and literary forms.  This major project discusses the means to accurately interpret and apply the New Testament book of Acts.  The author sets forth a responsible five-step interpretive process to convert a time-bound precept to a contextualized timeless principle.  This process is applied to ten successive portions of Acts 1-12. The training of the 14 pastors took place in Nairobi, Kenya, in September 2002. The group had one year to put the principles learnt into practice. The class met twice after the one-year period to reevaluate the ten principles they had previously learnt. The project proved that it was possible to plant churches using the ten leadership principles gathered from Paul's speech at Miletus. 5 new churches were planted and the other 9 that had existed before this project began grew by 33% to 185%. It also verifies that Acts 2 describes the church's marks. The research analyses the main problem with church mission statements.  It tests Acts 2 as a basis for the church's marks and for a study guide fro writing mission statements.  It evaluates a church group's usage of the study guide to produce a biblical mission statement. The results were mixed.  A mission statement from Acts 2 was not achieved. This multi-case design studied five United Methodist churches of the Central Texas Conference that had an average annual growth rate of 7 percent for 1990-1999.  The findings were similar to what the Apostles experienced in Acts 6.  The pastors welcomed the laity in roles of leadership, as they opened up new roles of leadership.  The churches focused spending on people, as the twelve's focus was on people. Finding its biblical basis in Acts 19, which tells how Paul's mission in Ephesus reached an entire province, the model suggests that a single local congregation, like a small botanical nursery, can develop a huge forest of churches.
