Textual research of the New Testament, particualrly the scenes in the Gospels where Jesus encounters women, is undertaken and a New Testament theology of acceptance is formulated. A historical survey of stories of Japanese women who encountered Christianity in the 16th, 19th and first half of the 20th centuries is analyzed from the point of view of a theology of acceptance. The paper also includes reports of projects undertaken to teach college and church women to accept themselves and others in a Japanese context."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["San Francisco Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["38714359-d032-4ed0-ae3f-cb82c8f65a92"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799715605672099840,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T01:49:09.964Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T00:51:09Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T01:44:21Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"0154fb9d-5990-42d5-91b7-b6798ab17da0","accessControl_ssim":["72dfdca3-c722-430b-b1a5-645e1bb3c70d"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Secular and Presbyterian philosophies of leadership as compared with the teaching and example of Jesus Christ"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T00:51:08Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-16T22:09:22Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["2a23031c-cfbf-4879-bb67-5b1371727a6c"],"hasLease_ssim":["1d2ebdca-b8bd-40e5-82e0-b15f13ac52b1"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["San Francisco Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Walter T Davis"],"year_tesim":["1990"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["J Patrick Jordan"],"publisher_tesim":["San Francisco Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Leadership--Religious aspects--Christianity","Bible. Questionnaires were sent to 150 (99 returned) Presbyterian pastors. The findings of these three studies were then correlated. The results suggested 5 major styles of leadership: charismatic (Weber), dictatorial, participative, democratic, and laissez faire. Presbyterians use styles 3 and 4 more, although 30 percent are at the dictatorial end of the leadership continuum."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["San Francisco Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["38714359-d032-4ed0-ae3f-cb82c8f65a92"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799715303744077824,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T01:44:22.024Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T00:35:11Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T08:42:05Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"5b89be79-1909-491b-a8fb-ccb69be36f4a","accessControl_ssim":["4f3c664e-94cd-4f0a-8d11-c26832cfd24a"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Profiles of the kingdom: the role of hermeneutical predispositions in a congregation's hearing of the parables of Jesus"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T00:35:10Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T00:49:22Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["ae189d62-ee71-4bcc-9bb0-4c4195fdf1fa"],"hasLease_ssim":["dfc57fa6-0016-499b-a907-b36a61009a56"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Candler School of Theology"],"advisor_tesim":["Charles D Hackett"],"year_tesim":["1990"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["J Van Dickens"],"publisher_tesim":["Candler School of Theology of Emory University"],"subject_tesim":["Congregations","Bible. It seeks to clarify why certain passages of scripture, namely, parables of Jesus, are interpreted differently. The project makes use of four typologies designed to explore a limited interpretation of the Kingdom as found in the parables. The method of approach is in the formation of two groups. One group determines and evaluates the usefulness/integrity of the typologies. The second group functions as an objective/reflective interpreter for the project. The dynamics of definable, congregational, hermeneutical filters are made evident."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Candler School of Theology"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["1e360310-aec8-4e88-a19a-00b4db71ef4a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791134875248492544,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:42:07.744Z","score":1.0}],"facets":[{"name":"resource_type_sim","items":[{"value":"Unknown","hits":3,"label":"Unknown"}],"label":"Resource Type"},{"name":"creator_sim","items":[{"value":"J Patrick Jordan","hits":1,"label":"J Patrick Jordan"},{"value":"J Van Dickens","hits":1,"label":"J Van Dickens"},{"value":"Yoshiko Isshiki","hits":1,"label":"Yoshiko Isshiki"}],"label":"Creator Sim"},{"name":"contributor_sim","items":[],"label":"Contributor"},{"name":"keyword_sim","items":[{"value":"Theology, Contextual","hits":1,"label":"Theology, Contextual"}],"label":"Keyword"},{"name":"subject_sim","items":[{"value":"Bible.
