Isaiah"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The purpose of the project is to develop a biblical foundation for a lay program of pastoral care by making theoretical and practical applications of the motif of servanthood found in the servant songs of Isaiah.  The motif of servanthood is explored by an exegetical study of the servant's identity and mission.  The implications of servanthood are suggested for the ministry of the church in general and to pastoral care as one particular aspect of servanthood. Isaiah","Church and the world"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["Based hermeneutically on Isaiah 42:1b, this project emphasizes two points: (1) education about global hunger, and (2) motivation toward its eradication.  The author led fifteen persons in six seminars concerning hungry children in underdeveloped countries, justice and the world food crisis, peace and justice, systematic injustice and institutional violence, the impact of international banks and multinational corporations in the Third World, and the Christian's response to global hunger.  Two instruments measured the project's effectiveness: (1) the participants' assessment which indicated enthusiastic interest, and (2) the author's estimate of each person's involvement within the seminars.
