The author used qualitative, social research methods and semistructured interviews were conducted. The data was collected from five churches in Taiwan that have over one thousand people attending worship services each week. Each of the five churches has a distinct church culture. The researcher studied the biblical and theological natures of care and community and their interconnectedness to each other. He used qualitative research to conduct case studies of Ada Bible Church and North Point Community Church to identify transferable principles. This dissertation examines the following: an overview of spiritual growth for individuals and churches, online tools for personal growth, and online environments created by local churches for Internet users. The project then continues with an explanation of research procedure and an argument for the legitimacy of the case study method. He then reports the research formulated by the case studies. All three churches studied are rather large in size, each of them differs in culture and structure. However, there are commonalities in how their online environments facilitate spiritual growth, which supports the hypothesis. Chapter 1 lays out the framework for the overall project.  Chapter 2 focuses on the pertinent biblical passages which lay the foundation for the concepts of fairness in labor remuneration.  Chapter 3 provides an exhaustive literature review and thorough explanation of the survey instruments, control groups, existing statistical abstracts, and compensation studies encompassed in the project. Chapter 4 facilitates a cross-comparison of the compensation data for the three leader groups. Additionally, this chapter draws the project to a conclusion by allowing for an evaluation of how the comparative results mentioned above relate to the original project thesis.
