The study arose out of the need for indigenous forms of worship. The author used the pro-active research method to collect and analyze data from observing the experimental rite and two surveys. Therefore, lay people lacked confidence in teaching it and members were hesitant to receive teaching from someone not seminary trained.  A twelve-session teacher training seminar was conducted over four consecutive Sundays.  Five Filipino ethnic Chinese Episcopalian adults were trained and tested.  The responses of ten local church members to the trainees' teaching were also tested. The five trainees taught before and after the twelve-session seminar. It consists of a series of eight major presentations and spiritual exercises dealing with the biblical, theological, historical, liturgical, and spiritual aspects of the sacrament of reconciliation.  The project envisions the inclusion of the laity and is geared to parish level participation as an adult catechetical process.
