While some homileticians have argued that preaching is in a state of crisis, I believe preaching is evolving according to a new understanding of our universe.  Visionary preaching moves beyond the old linear models of preaching based on a Newtonian mechanistic model of the universe. Behind the chaos of our postmodern world, the pattern of God's grace and power are at work.  Visionary sermons must use a chaotic model for preaching about and for change.
