Each session included Bible study, class exercises, the use of student journals, and assigned tasks to be accomplished between class sessions.  The course introduced the concept of transition moments as life situations requiring decisions, identified examples of those experiences in a midshipman's career, and related the Christian gospel to those moments as a resource for personal and spiritual growth.  A student evaluation of the course indicated that the concept of transition moments was understood and applied to personal experiences within the brigade. Pre-tests, post-tests, observations and interviews were used to determine the effects of a course entitled 'The Meaning of Life' on a control group. Story theology offered the theological perspective.
