The study explored patients’ positive and negative feelings and thoughts about being touched and the places on their bodies where they were touched. The goal of the study was to determine whether physical touch was or was not important to the patients. If it was affirmed that being physically touched by pastors, physicians, and nurses was important to patients, such information could be helpful to those professional people in ministering to patients. The methodology consisted of taking a taped interview from thirty randomly selected, adult patients from the hospital census who had been visited by their pastors. A pre-designed, structured, interview questionnaire was used by the investigator in the interviews. Where appropriate, the chi-square goodness of fit test was used to determine the extent to which observed frequencies deviated from frequencies to be expected under the null hypothesis."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com","martins02@moravian.edu"],"_version_":1851860257515503616,"timestamp":"2025-12-18T15:26:05.165Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2025-06-12T18:32:02Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2025-06-12T18:32:04Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"950575ee-cedf-41e3-ab17-b4a9dd4379ee","accessControl_ssim":["1ce40b39-19c7-4eb2-add8-3b7ddfbddb6f"],"depositor_ssim":["kstamant@nobts.edu"],"depositor_tesim":["kstamant@nobts.edu"],"title_tesim":["Equipping Selected Southeastern United States Chaplains at Corporate Chaplains of America with Spiritual Formation Competencies"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2025-06-12T18:32:01Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2025-06-12T18:32:01Z","isPartOf_ssim":["admin_set/default"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["f0e97a61-6c1d-4d84-9d93-1fd3c773cf62"],"hasLease_ssim":["2a414869-f03a-4789-9832-1a5a4e6ded44"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["DMin"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminar"],"advisor_tesim":["Dr Jim Parker"],"year_tesim":["2025"],"location_tesim":["United States--Sunbelt States"],"resource_type_tesim":["D.Min. Preparation for this project included extensive research of ministry burnout, the field of spiritual formation, and the classic spiritual disciplines of the Christian faith. Significant survey work was carried out with the team to understand more about their spiritual health and personal devotional practices. Three virtual teaching sessions were eventually prepared and presented to the team. The first session introduced the chaplains to the problem and scope of ministry burnout. Moral injury is gaining awareness across all branches of the armed forces. However, it is not a new concern; it is as old as humanity itself. Learning how to identify and care for moral injury is a developing process that mental health and clergy professionals are seeking guidance to better address needs. I am a member of the US Navy Chaplain Corps and wanted to know what this community knows about moral injury and what would this group of peers want to learn about providing care to those facing moral injury. After conducting interviews of seven Navy Chaplains, seven themes were found through reflective thematic analysis: (A) US Navy Chaplains are strategically placed and appropriately trained to care for moral injury. (B) Foundation of faith directly impacts ability to cope with moral injury. (C) Spiritual and emotional pain is common among those suffering from moral injury. (D) Peer support and trusted sharing are an important part of moral injury healing. (E) Pastoral counseling and listening are vital to moral injury support. (F) Confession is a helpful part of moral injury healing. (G) Finally, strengthening spirituality protects against potential morally injurious events. Navy Chaplains are asking for more specialized moral injury training, because they are embedded close to those who are most impacted with morally injurious events. They are also asking for moral injury detection tools, counseling skills, and training briefs that will enhance their ministry outcomes."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["admin_set/default-default-approving","admin_set/default-default-depositing","admin_set/default-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Default Admin Set"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["dminadmin@tiu.edu"],"_version_":1822156243298418688,"timestamp":"2025-01-24T18:33:29.713Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2025-01-13T16:51:24Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2025-01-13T16:51:26Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"0724486d-d07d-410e-b4a1-1657377f09fa","accessControl_ssim":["9d9a5eb4-5327-4334-b04b-6a13e4bb2090"],"depositor_ssim":["dminadmin@tiu.edu"],"depositor_tesim":["dminadmin@tiu.edu"],"title_tesim":["The Response to Hospice Care of Christian Indian Families in Chicago from 2011 to 2018"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2025-01-13T16:51:23Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2025-01-13T16:51:23Z","isPartOf_ssim":["admin_set/default"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["7b7d3ce9-bf4a-4c0c-ab87-4efaff00bd50"],"hasLease_ssim":["1c200a52-a22b-4ff5-95fd-741b59d85907"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Doctor of Ministry"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Trinity International University"],"year_tesim":["2020"],"resource_type_tesim":["D.Min. It then looked into the perceived biases (both theological and cultural) related to the Indian Christian population.\r\n\r\nThe research was conducted in the form of a survey with forty families and ten pastors that represented various denominations and language groups. The survey assessed how the families of the deceased viewed hospice care and why they chose to accept or decline these services for their loved ones. The response from the survey was analyzed and categorized into areas of theology, culture, and education.\r\n\r\nThe research results showed that the lack of knowledge related to hospice care among Indian Christians was a significant factor in their reluctance to use this service. It also showed that there were cultural factors that contributed to the lack of interest in this service by the families. This study proves that there is a need for further education related to hospice care among the Indian Christian population in this Through researching and developing a curriculum for use in correctional settings and through reflection on scripture, theological works, and the conversations and creative writing developed during the project, this study examines the church’s role in trauma healing. The findings of this study suggest that churches interested in robust engagement with traumatized populations are served well by exploring their own theology of parenthood, resilience, forgiveness, and most importantly, resurrection. Overall, this dissertation provides insights into the spiritual health and recovery of traumatized women in jail."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Pittsburgh Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["31bd5819-b5a3-4928-96d5-b581f38b637b"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791126790728581120,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T06:33:37.745Z","score":1.0}],"facets":[{"name":"resource_type_sim","items":[{"value":"D.Min.
