Research was accomplished to discover children's basic developmental needs and parenting skills necessary to meet the needs. A six-week parent training seminar was attended by seven parents. Pre- and posttests were administered to parents and their children, with a time-lapse evaluation also given to parents. Testing results revealed a measurable improvement in meeting the identified developmental needs."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["5e492469-490e-44a3-90c1-17560a603bc2"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799719540962099200,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T02:51:42.949Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T21:48:42Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T01:51:18Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"7b819473-1eba-4f68-8b05-0ddc599e7ec5","accessControl_ssim":["761de4e4-5cb2-480d-95de-501b5d12bc0e"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Children in the local church: developing a theological rationale for their inclusion with adults in the worshiping community"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T21:48:41Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T01:46:19Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["3d6c961f-8546-4d76-9344-e760951e8f2b"],"hasLease_ssim":["2706c40d-8295-4852-b046-21f2ebf82501"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["San Francisco Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["R Dean Gaudette"],"year_tesim":["1983"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Jack P Hansen"],"publisher_tesim":["San Francisco Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Children and adults","Children in public worship","Covenants--Religious aspects--Christianity","Child development","Public worship--Presbyterian Church in the U.S.A","Sacraments","Children"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The dissertation/project tests and evaluates the hypothesis that in worship and education, many congregations of the United Presbyterian Church in the USA have programmatically segregated adults and children; it develops a theological rationale for the participation of children with adults in the worship life of the local church; and it uses this theological rationale in the creation of specific guidelines for the inclusion of children with adults in the worshiping community. The primary focus is on symbiosis and separation-individuation. It is seen that successful attainment of a symbiotic relationship between mother and infant is essential if the next phase, separation-individuation is to take place in the infant's normal movement to autonomy. In working with two people, a man and woman, who have opted for a heterosexual relationship with each other, a principal area of conflict is in their inability to function autonomously. The developmental phases known as symbiosis and separation-individuation not having been satisfactorily achieved for either, the relationship has been an unsuccessful attempt to redress, or correct what went askew in the nursery. The author shows the therapeutic techniques employed to begin the reeducative process so that both may eventually be capable of making autonomous choices relatively free from the conflicts that now make such choices impossible. Consideration is given to the possibility of applying the psychotherapeutic approach to the church and the religious community."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Andover Newton Theological School"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["63ab0f5c-c5fb-460c-b8ba-dd2fd91f7145"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791133197288865792,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:15:27.516Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T19:40:29Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T08:45:23Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"f17a3945-76f7-4a80-b230-a1d9f7cfc713","accessControl_ssim":["30e00cfd-eec8-4101-847b-07d145742fa5"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["A dialogue between Pauline perspectives on behavior and the cognitive-behavioral methods used in a children's social and emotional skills group program"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T19:40:29Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T05:01:37Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["c4f1f24a-699a-4e43-ab38-61280b106f65"],"hasLease_ssim":["ec059394-c9f1-4f76-97af-93042d8185cd"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["David Hogue"],"year_tesim":["1999"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Brad W Schwall"],"publisher_tesim":["Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Social psychology","Child development"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This research project provides a dialogue between Pauline perspectives on behavior and the cognitive-behavioral techniques used in a children's social skills group program.
