The design of the project included the development and administration of an online questionnaire. The most prominent finding was the clergy possess some awareness of Christ-centered emotional healing. This project provided participants with an understanding of: (1) the risk of child sexual abuse (CSA) occurring within the church context; (2) the effects of CSA on the victims and their families and the church; and (3) the biblical motivation for safeguarding minors who participate in the church's ministries. The context of the ministry model was an inner-city church in the mid-Atlantic region. The method used a one-group pretest-posttest instruction design that was evaluated through questionnaires, in-process evaluations compose of open- and closed-ended questions, and attendance measurements. In the situation, twelve children and male adolescents were sexually abused by a male teenager from the church family. The focus of the research was upon the manner in which the leadership dealt with the problem.  Information was gathered from various parties involved; the responses of these various groups were then compared and evaluated.  The goal of the research was to discover and chronicle principles of leadership in the midst of a crisis, specifically one involving sexual abuse in a church. Questions regarding church discipline involved what constitutes cause for official church discipline, how discipline is to be carried out, and what also constitutes reason for the removal of the action. The dissertation also briefly addressed the issue of the relationship of church and state in matters involving the criminal activity of a church member. This was a qualitative study using a stratified sample of six Sisters who had been sexually abused as children and had engaged in some form of pastoral counseling regarding this issue.  The results indicated that the convent was not always a safe place, that pastoral counselors have not always addressed the issue of sexual abuse, and that most of the participants have used the process of pastoral psychotherapy to recommit to religious life. Because the paper deals exclusively with counseling female survivors the biblical and theological perspectives are weighted toward the feminist perspective. This project attempts to bring to the forefront the realities of incest by reviewing some statistical information and published literature on incest within a feminist framework.  It also presents the voices of seventeen young women who were incest victims.  A profile of the incestuous family based on the seventeen testimonies is offered in the form of a case study which is written in the voice of the victim/survivor and has a Christian slant.  The project ends with guidelines for
