The author examines the developmental stages of preliterate children, the divine design for raising children in the fear and knowledge of the Lord; he engages with their parents regarding their understanding of their children's faith development, and proposes use of liturgy and appropriate 'quiet books' assisting children's worship of the Lord. Both children and adults were educated on the faith development and worship capabilities of children in the corporate worship setting. Biblical and psychological research was used to formulate sermons, worship manuals, and aids.  A worship committee comprised of adults and children planned and evaluated a corporate worship service to reflect the goals. The purpose of this practicum/project is to investigate methods that facilitate the incorporation of elementary age children into the morning worship hour.  This practicum was conducted over a seven-week period during which time eight lay pastors conducted a total of forty-two interviews with children who attended a medium-size county seat church. The first task is accomplished through literature reviews and questionnaire analyses.
