The multi-dimensional qualitative research process was grounded in solid understandings gleaned from within the Christian tradition with respect to theological, biblical, historical and psychological disciplines. Basic assumptions examined included spirituality of children, blessing, holiness, worship, prayer, community, holy listening and Sabbath. Chapter 1 provides the context of the church and community settings. The goals, definitions, and limitations are also given. Chapter 2 gives the biblical, theological, and historical bases for the evangelism of children. Parents and the church are to work in partnership in the evangelism and discipleship of children. Chapter 3 examines cognitive and spiritual development of children. Personality types are examined as they relate to spiritual sensitivity to provide an overview of intentional evangelism. Chapter 4 covers what happened during the fifteen-week project. This chapter focuses on giving the facts of what happened and who was involved. Chapter 5 is the evaluation of the project. This chapter shares the goals that were met and those that were not. The author gives his personal theological reflection. The project had three phases: interviews which included drawing a picture of God and self, ten worship times developed for the student body, and a second set of interviews with a second picture.  The findings, while not completely able to support the author's thesis since the project was subjective, did reveal naturally curious children who were eager to explore God's presence in their lives. The author examines the developmental stages of preliterate children, the divine design for raising children in the fear and knowledge of the Lord; he engages with their parents regarding their understanding of their children's faith development, and proposes use of liturgy and appropriate 'quiet books' assisting children's worship of the Lord. This project focuses on children reclaiming roles of leadership from the early church and using these roles to be leaders of the modern church.  The roles of children in the early church are explored, and current developmental perspectives of children are examined.  A study is conducted of children and their leadership in worship employing the roles of children from the early church.
