The project analyzes seven areas of belief and practice in relation to demographic categories.  Relevant characteristics include practice of spiritual disciplines, regular responsibility in the church, contentment with church, a sense of psychological well-being, age, membership status, income level, and length of time attending the church. The project distributed a 69-item questionnaire to 1,003 such women along with the Spiritual Well-Being Scale. The questionnaire assessed perceptions of well-being of ministers' spouses in five domains of life--self, marriage, work, church. and community. Although evidence of significant stress appeared in various domains, this population demonstrated spiritual and emotional health. Several factors could be correlated with a high degree of spiritual well-being: initial sense of call to ministry, self-efficacy and differentiation in home and church, healthy communication in marriage, financial support from congregations, and presence of support and friendships outside the church. A quantitative, descriptive method of research using a mailed questionnaire was employed.  Many differences were found. Bibliographic, historical, descriptive and evaluative research were required.  The use of case studies was considered essential. Six major Ivorian cities were chosen with interviews conducted among missionaries from ten mission agencies. Fervent prayer, a diverse use of means and methods of evangelism, mission coordination, cell group formation, and theological education are among the priorities for successful evangelization and church planting-efforts. Mission work began in 1897, but after 90 years the Argentina Alliance consisted of only about 4,000 believers.  The project attempts to provide a comprehensive history of which will give the members of the Christian and Missionary Alliance in Argentina a sense of their identity.  The project also examined and critiqued those factors which affected church growth positively and negatively. Research included examination of all pertinent books, articles, correspondence, and reports.  In addition, interviews of many church leaders and questionnaires sent to dozens of Alliance leaders past and present, were utilized. The major issue addressed was how life-situation preaching can be done in such a context.  The legitimacy of an evangelical use of life-situation preaching was established in Scritpure and church history.  Questionnaires were used to discover the most frequently occurring problems of members; sermons were prepared and delivered on the seven most common problems, including anxiety, anger and discouragement.  Members of the congregation evaluated each sermon.  Approximately twenty percent of them said they received help or sought out further counsel with the pastor.  Evening service attendance increased ten percent. A survey of Christian and Missionary Alliance (C\u0026MA) pastors and staff was completed in 1998 using the Western Pennsylvania District of the C\u0026MA as a sample. The survey sought to determine the rate of forced exits and factors involved in forced exits. These rates and factors were compared to two previous studies of forced exits (Crowell, 1990, and LaRue, 1996). It then looks at leadership identification and development. specifically within the International Ministries (IM) structure. The research element of the project consists of interviews with thirteen mission leaders, seeking to determine if there is agreement on what a leader is and what his qualities and characteristics should be. The interview also seeks to understand how potential missionary leaders are identified and then developed for future positions on the mission fields. Various conclusions are drawn from the results of the interviews and both general and particular recommendations are suggested for further study or action on IM's part.
