The overall project proved unsuccessful due to sporadic worship attendance and lack of parental follow-up at home. This is rapidly changing because of societal need and the fact that the Bible has many things to say about care of our world. In fact, environmental stewardship was the frst job given human beings by God. It is even more important today. This project acknowledges the need to mobilize the church to be stewards of the environment, and develops a course of study to be used in our congregations to make people aware of their responsibilites and motivations. The third chapter highlights the positive and the negative role of religion in Nigeria, defines peace and describes the understanding of peace according to each religion. The fourth chapter identifies teachings that will need to be deconstructed in the major religions that can serve the community to create a dialogue of shalom/salam. The fifth chapter offers the proper way to foster peace through shalom and provides the meaning of reconciliation along with adequate steps toward reconciliation. The sixth chapter focuses on designing an effective curriculum for congregations in order to facilitate peace education. The author argues that the 'I am' sayings and their pericopes in the gospel of John provide parents a theological and pedagogical foundation from which they may shape the Christological development of their pre-adolescent children. Research indicated a ministry need for such a resource. Scripture was surveyed for additional insight into parental pedagogy, the child, and the 'image of God.' The application of research in in the publication of a book for use by parents and others."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["b2ad2862-737d-4dde-8145-b9b6962ac5f3"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791132839288242176,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:09:46.101Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T12:19:28Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T06:51:21Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"960a58ee-6b44-4905-870d-28e5b664e4da","accessControl_ssim":["3f01d10d-298a-4e3e-8c77-1e6fa38997ab"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Engaging beauty with undergraduates"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T12:19:27Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T02:31:27Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["fe0ba775-9323-4d5d-b7ba-012c28691a56"],"hasLease_ssim":["9a78d1c7-50e5-4ed1-bf6b-718eb6a421b5"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Trinity Episcopal School for Ministry (Ambridge, PA)"],"advisor_tesim":["Henry L Thompson"],"year_tesim":["2008"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Shirley J Kilpatrick"],"publisher_tesim":["Trinity Episcopal School for Ministry"],"subject_tesim":["Education--Curricula","Theology","Aesthetics--Religious aspects--Christianity","Christian education","Philosophy"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This thesis looks at the question of teaching beauty as a theological value. In this project, an intertextual reading of the Song of Songs unfolds a beauty that is objective, that reveals the distance of delight between God and creation. This project examines the theological perspectives of Saint Augustine, Jonathan Edwards, and David Bentley Hart, all of who work toward trinitarian theologies of beauty.
