A parent's training manual for teaching their children was written based on the Evangelical Free Church of America's doctrinal statement. Thirteen parents were recruited to test the manual with twenty-six children between the ages of five and twelve.  Each week's lesson included Bible study, Scripture memory and catechism memory work. A Scale of Readiness was also developed to help identify the levels of readiness of the student prospects.  The project was used as a pilot project at the Arlington Chinese Baptist Church, co-sponsored by the Baptist General Convention of Texas.  Eleven chapters, an introductory session, and two assimilation sessions comprise the project material.  The chapters were written to address frequently asked questions among Chinese students. The situation of the diocese of Bismark is similar to most rural dioceses in the United States. Integrating gender studies, rural sociology, rural catechetical ministry and contemporary leadership theory, this thesis-project maintains that leadership development uniquely focused for women in rural catechetical ministry will increase their sense of self as leader and leadership practices. The study gives voice to rural women involved in catechetical ministry as they expressed themselves in various sessions. The author utilized Vyhmeister's Quality research papers, chapter 13, to create a 'Program development model' as a form of research. The event included coordinated Sunday school classes, morning worship, and Bible study, all based on the lectionary passages for Epiphany. Chapter 3 examines intercessory prayer in light of the history of revivals and awakenings.  Chapter 4 describes the project's methodology and the teaching sessions of the seminar, which was conducted in the church.  Chapter 5 provides an evaluation of the project and its effectiveness in the church. Chapter 1 included an overview of Harpeth Community Church, along with the rationale, limitations, and a statement of purpose of the project.  Chapter 2 examined the theological basis for 'holistic Christian conversion' and featured a detailed look at biblical prayer, the Word of God for conversion purposes, and some of the needs presented by unbelievers before their conversion.  Chapter 3 detailed the process of conversion, and included several popular and new scales for measuring the spiritual condition of the unbeliever.  Several popular conversion programs were examined in detail. Chapter 4 introduced materials developed for the course, a meeting format, pre-training for Christians who join the class as helpters, and an overview of the actual course material.  Chapter 5 concluded the project with an analysis of the program, the volunteers that participated, and the conversion of spiritual seekers.  Other topics included the eventual improvement of the course for broader usage and the furtherance of the study in the future.  The project was developed as an attempt to provide a better alternative to the Alpha course for broad use within the Restoration Movement. Included in this thesis is a manual designed for an 8-week study which will prepare a teenager to preach a biblical, age-appropriate message.  The manual focuses on 3 elements: the teenager speaker, the message itself, and the teenage audience. The thesis's goal is that a youth pastor can take a group of leadership teenagers and challenge them to the high calling of preaching. A catechism developed for Nashville Tennessee First Church of the Nazarene served as the primary teaching instrument.
