It was based on an approach to confirmation as a process of identity formation. The project concluded with a 'mission worship' led by the youth in which samulnori and other aspects of Korean culture were introduced into the confirmation service. The dissertation offers a model for motivating improvement based on the identification of three types of need: felt, real and educational.  Members of four churches from different denominations rated topics and took a 50-item test on Bible, doctrine, missions, and ethics prepared with the help of a modified Delphi technique.  Significant needs were exposed.  Real need was not always matched by a felt need, casting doubt on its motivating power. The method used was to analyze a questionnaire sent to 685 students in 7 of these mission schools.  The author found problems in government policy, Christian commitment among faculty and spiritual development of the students due to the competition to enter the top universities. Worship elements not used on a regular basis and found to be meaningful to baby boomers were labelled as alternative expressions of worship.  Chapter 2 presents biblical principles used as criteria needed to properly evaluate worship experiences.  The main issue of this chapter emphasized authentic worship to prevent the incorporation of worship elements which might be viewed as entertainment or novelty approaches to worship enhancement. Chapter 3 outlines baby boomer views on cultural and religious issues.
