The project addresses two issues.  The first is the lack of theological hermeneutics in most mainline Protestants.  The second is a personal need within the author to rework his own understanding of christology.  The education model utilized David Ausabel's 'advance organizer' model because of its techniques of imparting large blocks of new information, and Thomas Groome's 'shared praxis' approach because of its techniques of hooking the inner story of the participant into the story being taught.  As evaluation, class members were tested for content, acceptance of controversial issues, and the adequacy of the education model. A panel of lay persons plus a dialogue between biblical scholars made critical biblical scholarship available to the average believer using a video cassette recorder. Research involved perusing Vatican II documents and subsequent directives. Academic study of media production and related disciplines helped complete a new curriculum with a pilot video program which has been successfully field-tested. The author conducted a survey of Lutheran congregations in central Florida to test the theory that worship helps in the Sunday bulletin increases the comprehension of participants in the service. The child-rearing motifs of John Wesley were taught within the structural-developmental framework of James W Fowler's faith development theory, to inform parents of some of the theological and psychological factors necessary for a more informed nurture of Christian faith in their children. The project was carried out through a series of seminars conducted at the First Church of the Nazarene in Stillwater, Oklahoma. The method considers these assumptions: 1. methodology needs to be consistent with its message; 2. remembrance is enlivened by experience; 3. recall is supported by sites and places; 4. meaningful teaching advances an ethic; 5. our ethic is visible in God's future kingdom; and 6. walking can support Christian learning.  Five lessons and post-tests demonstrate the method.  Evaluation included student responses a week after and parental response eighteen months later.
