The methodology of the project included the development and teaching of a course on the theology and practice of preaching, a period of participant implementation, and interviews of participants in the study toward an evaluation of the project. Participant response showed a greater or lesser benefit depending on willingness and ability to apply the learnings. Research was done by questionnaires administrated before and after each of 2 successive sessions of the institute. Also used were personal interviews of institute participants. Research showed that the institute was succeeding in teaching biblical knowledge. It did not succeed in motivating people to greater service in church or community. The author concluded that various factors entered into the cause of the failure. Mentors were enlisted for training in biblical principles concerning the ministry of mentorship, the happy functioning of a Christian family, and the distinctive biblical teachings concerning the various family roles. Training consisted of four sessions which were held on a Friday evening and a Saturday morning as part of a seminar for senior adults. The project director wrote and presented a vision for mentoring ministry and the path for the steps needed to achieve the vision. The experiences of planning the seminar, teaching the seminar, and evaluating the seminar provided valuable insight into the process of training senior adult mentors. The project director became convinced that faithful Christian senior adults are the greatest untapped resource for instruction and encouragement in family living for younger adults. During the six weeks between the two retreats, the men participated in weekly community group meetings with the project director. After sharing in each class, participants were examined to see if any change took place. The methodology used to achieve the goal took place in the form of a pre and post-test, journaling, spiritual gifts inventory, and exit interviews.  The findings of the project showed that participants were strengthened as a result of the classes taught. This was validated by the multicultural awareness quiz, which was employed as the pre-test.  A post-questionnaire was the method of gathering and evaluating feedback.  Measurement was accomplished by collecting and reviewing the data from the questionnaires.  Results were incorporated into the dissertation. The author compared a control group of Maasai pastors and the respective congregations studying the Theological Education by Extension (TEE) textbook of 1 Corinthians with a test group of Maasai pastors and their respective congregations learning the text by the narrative paradigm (storying). The test group outperformed the control group in tangible oral tests derived from the TEE textbook over a ten week period.
