It included only the first six sessions of a proposed twenty four session strategy. The project was effective as a pilot strategy and will continue to be edited. The curricula was a combination of materials complied by the project leader and materials written by the project leader. The project leader read books, studied other discipleship materials, conducted interviews, and utilized several evaluations tools to attain and measure the goals of this strategy. An explanation and understanding of the 'bow tie' theory of church growth and the development of a five-year growth strategy will also be presented. The project leader will lead an eight-week training period with the adult Sunday School teachers after the evening worship service. Each session will last approximately one hour. The sessions will seek to expand the teacher's knowledge of the importance of Sunday School as well as seek to improve the organization of the Sunday School program at Chapel Grove Baptist Church. This project, upon completion, will provide the Sunday School ministry at Chapel Grove Baptist Church a strong foundation upon which to build for the future. The goal is to provide a plan that will not only impact the present but also the future. Building on Old Testament precedents for the Lord's supper--focusing on Abraham's meal with the Lord and the OT sacrificial system--the project turns to accounts of the last supper in the synoptic gospels, the meal and discourse in John 6, and Paul's teaching in 1 Corinthians. These texts inform the subsequent history of the Lord's supper and its interpreters.
