On the hypothesis that few churches sponsoring Christian schools are training members who are parents of students in these schools in evangelism, the project surveyed churches that sponsor schools and are also members of either the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) or Texas Association of Baptist Schools (TABS). The project develops a paradigm from the Epistles, which it then implements and evaluates for its effectiveness. The project begins with an exposition of Lesslie Newbigin's thought and then develops a teaching guide for Presbyterian newcomers.  Newbigin provides analysis and resources that are helpful in reaching newcomers who are strongly influenced by a secular worldview.  Newbigin's thought on the Enlightenment, religious pluralism, and the Bible is explored. Two chapters in the teaching guide are then presented, one on pluralism and one on the Bible. A five-part congregational-based educational series was designed to present Bible, doctrine, Luther's writings and ecumenical dialogues to stimulate a desire to live the faith. A manual was produced to teach the biblical concept of faith, to correct misunderstandings of faith, and to strengthen the exercise of faith.  The manual was used in a class setting and then evaluated by the participants. A pastor's class program consisting of sermons, training sessions, Bible study lessons, fellowship activities, and contacts was used to accomplish the purpose.  The program caused the participants to analyze personal attitudes and behaviors toward Bible study. The project was to develop a pedagogy of the prosperous. The pedagogy was developed within a framework of sociological analysis, theological reflection, ecclesiological imagination, and pastoral concern.  The result was a year-long, praxis-based, liberation-focused curriculum for congregations situated in a culture of materialism.
