Chapter 1 described the goals, background, methodology, and meaning of prayer.  Chapter 2 provided the biblical-theological rationale.  The call to prayer, examples of prayer, and models of prayer were considered. Chapter 3 discussed the ministry aspect.  It involved eight weekly sessions of instruction followed by five weeks devoted to the sharing of prayer.  Chapter 4 described the research process.  The study group, control group, research design, hypothesis, variables, and evaluative components were discussed. Chapter 5 involved an evaluation of the program. A pretest and posttest evaluation instrument is used to ascertain the significance and impact of the training. This project involves twelve weeks of training sessions that include: lectures, group dynamics, and personal visitation.  The effectiveness of the training is measured through the administration of pretraining and posttraining tests (Semantic Differential and Knowledge Questionnaires).  The test scores are compared to a control group which is similar to the training group in number of persons, gender, and age. The course was originally taught on Radio School of the Bible over the Moody Broadcasting Network. An initial theology of conflict is developed and is compared with secular theories of conflict currently having influence.  A rationale for the material is included as well as test results from the first group to use the manual.
