Death anxiety is reviewed in the literature and critically examined in the approaches of Becker, Lifton, and Yalom; and from a biblical-theological perspective.  A curriculum was developed for adult education on death and dying. Kin-life is that quality of relationships within a group that is characterized by commonality, unity, harmony, and a shared interest in the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of others.  The project trained thirteen individuals called ministry leaders to strengthen kin-life in adult Sunday School classes. It further provides a synopsis of the evolution of the lay speaking program in general and in the Baltimore North District in particular. Chapter IV reports on the programs offered in the other districts. The basic material of this course was the life and teachings of Dietrich Bonhoeffer, especially his emphasis on christological understanding. This project was conducted during an eight-week, two-hour seminar in the local church setting.  The class method involved lectures followed by suggested discussion questions and a final evaluation. Thus, biography and autobiography may effectively be used to encourage theological reflection by adults in the church. The project includes a survey of the literature of narrative theology (with particular attention to Stroup, Hauerwas and McClendon) and a discussion of hermeneutical problems. The author proposes a four-step method for biographical theology, and applies it to group studies of the life stories of Dietrich Bonhoeffer and C S Lewis.
