Thirteen laypersons were trained during seven sessions in the principles of leadership, small group discipleship, group building, and the inductive Bible study method.  These principles were applied to the existing adult Bible study program.  Evaluation procedures revealed a positive move from a basic lecture style of teaching to a relational style of teaching. Emphases on praxis and the nurturing role of the faith community also are highlighted.  The project then demonstrates that students involved in a well-designed program of writing strategies can begin to foster life-long Christian education.  The project leads students to exercise critical and controlled religious imagination. It begins with a historical review of initiation into the Christian Church and includes an extended section of infant baptism.  The theological stance based on covenant responsibilities and God's grace through Jesus Christ supports infant baptism.  The philosophical arguments involve how we know and communicate reality.  The experiential focus of the confirmation model contrasts with the more popular 'workbook' model.
