The intent of this project is to create an environment of transformation for the development of virtuous leaders at Crosspoint Church in Hemet, California. This project, therefore, developed lectures on the creation ordinances of Genesis, the wisdom sayings of Proverbs, the beatitudes of Matthew's gospel, and the key vice and virtue lists of the New Testament. The research design combined thirteen weeks of instruction, weekly sermonic reading, daily practice of the spiritual disciplines, and evaluation instruments. This was done with a view of finding ways to improve it and make it more effective, both in communicating content as well as motivating the students to personally apply the truths learned. Use was made of focus groups to evaluate the effectiveness of the prepared curriculum. If was found that these Bible studies have been successful in communicating Bible information to the children and also that is it being applied to their lives."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Dallas Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["8322f611-a593-413a-8bcd-0011fba52dc7"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791130954204446720,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:39:48.345Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T10:19:09Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:42:41Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"69a7e310-94f6-4daa-9e13-07fa90b86d57","accessControl_ssim":["2d07aebe-173a-4791-9670-e27de6504746"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Operating the potter's wheel: shaping faith"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T10:19:08Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T01:13:30Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["9ae800c9-cf5a-49cd-9d2a-9a8613268a5f"],"hasLease_ssim":["abb072d9-3acb-4a5a-af56-530a3d071f5b"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Gary Parrett"],"year_tesim":["2006"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Anne Elizabeth Jenkins"],"publisher_tesim":["Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Education--Curricula","Sunday schools","Christian education--Teaching methods","Christian education--Teacher training","Sunday school teachers"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This thesis-project is a two-phase curriculum which addresses what Shiloh Baptist Church Sunday School has to do to attract, nurture and retain church members. Shiloh is an old, traditional, southern black Baptist institution whose historical prominence emerged because of her dynamic Christian education ministry, of which Sunday School had dwindled to nil. Eager to revitalize the Christian education ministry and energize the persons of auxiliaries and ministry leaders, the pastor petitioned to boost a dying ministry. An initiative involving all church leaders was launched to address the Christian education needs of Shiloh. The timeline for this project was originally six weeks, but developed into an additional seven weeks to more effectively meet the objectives of the project. Phase I of the project focused on assessing the Christian education ministry, defining roles and leadership training. Phase II specifically concentrated on Sunday School teacher training centered on biblical background knowledge, Christian doctrine, teaching methods and addressed a variety of learning styles. This project resulted in a Christian education curriculum within which leadership development and church school teacher training were key efforts in realizing the project's objective."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Gordon-Conwell
