The case of this study is Ehwa Media High School.  this study proposes a spiritual education with these steps: meeting God, meeting our neighbors, and meeting ourselves.  It suggests the following proposals: spiritual education is needed in religious education of the school.  Knowledge-based religious education needs to be reconsidered.  Spiritual education brings about the participation of students and their transformation.  Spiritual education helps students have a good image of Christianity. Wesley spread Methodist doctrines through sermons, and asked early Methodist preachers to preach according to Methodist doctrines. Nowadays, preaching doctrinal sermons as a Methodist preacher can be a way of reviving the spirit of the early Methodist church.  Doctrinal sermons have the advantage of reducing rejection on the part of church members toward doctrinal instruction and making it possible to teach doctrine to church members continually. As the pastor of the historic Tabernacle Baptist Church in Augusta, GA, the author was able to ask the question: can biblical expositional preaching help a multigenerational church steeped in therapeutic culture deal with contemporary issues?  A case study was produced where first the author developed a focus group to develop the contemporary issues that were important to the congregation as well as a survey to identify the top contemporary issues to be highlighted in a sermon series preached at Tabernacle Baptist Church.  After the sermon series, those who participated in the initial survey were asked to participate in a follow-up survey to see if the preaching was helpful in dealing with contemporary issues. The author preached two sermon series in 2008 which examined some of the other moral questions facing Christians, particularly in an election year.  After each sermon series, the author offered opportunities for feedback and further discussion from laity. The goals of this project are to (a) strengthen the purpose of the local church, the First Congregational Church of Woodbury, and (b) inspire individual and community leadership. Three faith summits and a 'faith \u0026 justice' lecture series were devised. The first summit was held in the fall of 2005, the second faith summit in the spring of 2006, and the third in the fall of 2006.  The 'faith \u0026 justice' lecture was a by-product of evaluations and learning from the three faith summits. Two committees were formed. The intra-religious committee and the inter-religious task force help steer the dialogue. Ongoing lectures and events are now combined efforts of both committees. Yet because transmission of HIV/AIDS often involves forms of sexual contact and/or substance use which are condemned in most Christian communities, and because many persons living with HIV/AIDS have had deeply painful experiences with Christians, prejudice, fear, and pain create a gap between Christians and persons living with HIV/AIDS.  AIDS education within church communities needs to bridge this gap.  This project is a ministry tool in which Christian communities interact with a body of artistic work in order to shift misunderstanding, prejudice, and fear concerning persons living with HIV/AIDS.  The project shows that art can be used to bring about understanding, transformation, and dialogue. Research from an annotated bibliography provided the resources for development of lesson plans in order to equip the selected group. The equipping included sessions that both explored and defined the concept of relationship-driven ministry. Deacons selected were asked to participate in three sessions equaling seven hours. These sessions included study of both Old and New Testament passages of Scripture supporting the concept of relationship-driven ministry. The result was the formulation of a functioning and practical team-equipping process that focused on risk management. The project began by researching risk management. Upon completion of the research phase, the project director developed a curriculum of complete lesson plans and teaching material consisting of four training sessions to equip the team on risk management. The participants were evaluated before, during and after the study. The project included research of the spiritual discipline of prayer and contemporary spiritual formation methodologies.  This research led to the design, administration, and evaluation of training sessions with the selected leaders.  Training included seven weekly didactic sessions on various dimensions of individual and corporate prayer, with additional assignments between sessions.  Participants assessed assigned readings  and maintained a journal throughout the process with assigned entries germane to the subject matter.  An eighth and final session assessed the participants' mastery of the subject matter and summarized the project material. The intent of this process was to equip the participants to lead the embryonic congregation in the arena of prayer, fostering a culture in which prayer is understood, valued, and practiced.
