The outcome will be to have Christians observing everything that Jesus had commanded, which is the second part of the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20).  The project started with an examination of disciple-making disciplines and strategy-planning techniques in general.  The list resulting from this research became the basis for developing a strategy for making disciples for First Baptist Church, Wauchula.  Upon completion, the strategy was approved by church staff and the strategy-development team. This project evolved because I have seen the collateral damage that has occurred between incumbent and emerging leaders.  It is based upon the research completed by Ron Carcucci in Leadership divided: what emerging leaders need and what might be missing.I brought together a selected group of incumbent and emerging leaders to see how the relationship gap that separates them could be reduced. I invited them to join me for an eight-session learning experience. The researcher created, implements, and evaluated a training program, which discussed spiritual development and Christian leadership. The researcher studied the biblical basis for and selected writing about leadership, PCUSA documents, and programs on training elders. Finally, the researcher conducted a phone survey to other PCUSA churches to discuss how they train their elders. The researcher's program was implemented in 2008. To empower Christian educators, they participated in ten training sessions learning biblical, theological, and historical information, as well as teaching strategies and learning styles. Christian education is the vehicle used to assist in the faith formation of students as they move towards social action. Methodology used for qualitative data collection included a pre-survey, need assessment, and post-survey. The author focused on a particular congregation and ways in which small Bible study groups affected the cultural understanding of members.  She examined the complexities of culture and the significance of building relationships.  She worked with Paul Kimmel's definition of cultural understanding to examine the growth in understanding of persons utilizing a method called 'African Bible study.' Participants in the project were trained according to the findings of the research.  After being trained, they taught a new curriculum that reflects the research findings.  Data from focus groups and surveys measured changes in the workers' attitudes and understandings. The intent of this project is to create an environment of transformation for the development of virtuous leaders at Crosspoint Church in Hemet, California.  This project, therefore, developed lectures on the creation ordinances of Genesis, the wisdom sayings of Proverbs, the beatitudes of Matthew's gospel, and the key vice and virtue lists of the New Testament.  The research design combined thirteen weeks of instruction, weekly sermonic reading, daily practice of the spiritual disciplines, and evaluation instruments. The project employed the use of various active teaching methods in order to include the different learning styles of the students.  The project demonstrates that the use of these active learning methods did result in a reduction in rote memorization and a significant improvement in the student's ability to retain what they were being taught.
