Consequently they begin patterning their lives according to the lifestyles portrayed on the screen, with an increasing incidence of personal problems similar to those viewed. All pertinent research and publications were reviewed, and this information was used as a basis for a seminar designed to inform church-goers of the negative impact non-intentional, indiscriminate viewing has on character development and personal lifestyle values.  Seminar participants responded favorably, reducing viewing time, and by exercising greater discrimination in program selection, followed Christian principles learned in the seminar."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Andrews University"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["4b1d9df2-25d6-46f6-a889-1871c277d61c"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791135372769492992,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:50:02.217Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T02:16:10Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T02:48:49Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"95da1895-6db7-41eb-9f1b-8298f13274a6","accessControl_ssim":["09759a25-d1c6-4ab6-8c9e-dc0e969c69dc"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Values for discipleship training for ministry"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T02:16:09Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T02:31:11Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["ce9de862-0d8d-4a0e-865d-9a8dda9098e7"],"hasLease_ssim":["7687f709-dac6-4466-a22f-b180654b0570"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Trinity Evangelical Divinity School"],"advisor_tesim":["Richard Allen Bodey"],"year_tesim":["1992"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Willis Dowling"],"publisher_tesim":["Trinity Evangelical Divinity School of Trinity International University"],"subject_tesim":["Christian ethics","Christian education","Christian life","Church work"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This project was designed to help the class grow in discipleship, biblical-theological understanding, and leadership through personal ministry.  From twenty classes of study in various broad areas of discussion, the goal was to develop and discuss values that would apply our studies to personal ministry.  Various methods of teaching were used such as lecture, discussion, inductive/deductive, forum, case study, drama, video, role-play, speakers, audio-visuals, handouts and demonstration. By verbalizing our values based class material, a value system was compiled from the classes that contributed to spiritual growth and personal ministry of the class."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Trinity Evangelical Divinity School"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["c654e922-76d0-4427-ac29-e286b7997781"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799719359486099456,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T02:48:49.881Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T02:15:41Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T08:50:10Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"b607c216-3349-401d-92ef-903244db8967","accessControl_ssim":["ac5b767a-04b4-4d45-b32f-7c3c98b77aab"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Pluralism in the church: problem or promise?"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T02:15:40Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T03:23:06Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["263cdba5-65f6-4d72-881d-9c8c406a8884"],"hasLease_ssim":["4236eb95-96fc-4b34-a28f-ca75ff8217b6"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Terry C Muck","John E Alsup"],"year_tesim":["1992"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Roger T Quillin"],"publisher_tesim":["Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Religious pluralism","Consensus","Communities--Religious aspects","Christian ethics"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["In an age of theological diversity and moral pluralism, is it any longer possible to define a central core of Christian beliefs and behaviors which are 'necessary' for all Christians to affirm and follow, or to set any boundaries to Christian faith and practice beyond which one may not go and still remain a Christian?  If it is, who decides what the center and those boundaries are? The church needs a model which accepts as a cultural given the moral autonomy of the individual, yet which also believes the Christian community has a significant role to play in helping its members make their moral decisions. Since moral authority no longer comes from the 'top down,' does that mean the church must leave each individual alone to be his/her own authority on all moral issues? Or is there a middle ground where genuine moral discourse can take place?  The local congregation offers the best hope for the kind of moral dialogue and decision-making which accepts the reality of individual autonomy while re-creating the possibility of community consensus on moral norms."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["0f245891-e4c1-47d9-842b-9aefbafae138"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791135384477892608,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:50:13.383Z","score":1.0}],"facets":[{"name":"resource_type_sim","items":[{"value":"Unknown","hits":3,"label":"Unknown"}],"label":"Resource Type"},{"name":"creator_sim","items":[{"value":"John Glass","hits":1,"label":"John Glass"},{"value":"Roger T Quillin","hits":1,"label":"Roger T Quillin"},{"value":"Willis Dowling","hits":1,"label":"Willis Dowling"}],"label":"Creator Sim"},{"name":"contributor_sim","items":[],"label":"Contributor"},{"name":"keyword_sim","items":[],"label":"Keyword"},{"name":"subject_sim","items":[{"value":"Christian ethics","hits":3,"label":"Christian ethics"},{"value":"Christian education","hits":1,"label":"Christian education"},{"value":"Christian life","hits":1,"label":"Christian life"},{"value":"Church work","hits":1,"label":"Church work"},{"value":"Communities--Religious aspects","hits":1,"label":"Communities--Religious aspects"},{"value":"Consensus","hits":1,"label":"Consensus"}],"label":"Subject"},{"name":"location_sim","items":[],"label":"Location"},{"name":"language_sim","items":[{"value":"English","hits":3,"label":"English"}],"label":"Language"},{"name":"publisher_sim","items":[{"value":"Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary","hits":1,"label":"Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary"},{"value":"Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary of Andrews University","hits":1,"label":"Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary of Andrews University"},{"value":"Trinity Evangelical Divinity School of Trinity International University","hits":1,"label":"Trinity Evangelical Divinity School of Trinity International University"}],"label":"Publisher"},{"name":"date_created_sim","items":[],"label":"Date Created"},{"name":"types_sim","items":[{"value":"Text","hits":3,"label":"Text"}],"label":"Type"},{"name":"year_sim","items":[{"value":"1992","hits":3,"label":"1992"}],"label":"Year"},{"name":"format_sim","items":[],"label":"Format"},{"name":"member_of_collections_ssim","items":[{"value":"Andrews University","hits":1,"label":"Andrews University"},{"value":"Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary","hits":1,"label":"Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary"},{"value":"Trinity Evangelical Divinity School","hits":1,"label":"Trinity Evangelical Divinity School"}],"label":"Collections"},{"name":"degree_sim","items":[{"value":"Unknown","hits":3,"label":"Unknown"}],"label":"Degree"},{"name":"discipline_sim","items":[],"label":"Discipline"},{"name":"degree_granting_institution_sim","items":[{"value":"Andrews University","hits":1,"label":"Andrews University"},{"value":"Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary","hits":1,"label":"Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary"},{"value":"Trinity Evangelical Divinity School","hits":1,"label":"Trinity Evangelical Divinity School"}],"label":"Degree Granting Institution"},{"name":"department_sim","items":[],"label":"Department"},{"name":"funder_name_sim","items":[],"label":"Funder Name"},{"name":"event_title_sim","items":[],"label":"Event Title"},{"name":"event_date_sim","items":[],"label":"Event Date"},{"name":"institution_sim","items":[{"value":"Atla RIM","hits":3,"label":"Atla RIM"}],"label":"Host Institution"}],"pages":{"current_page":1,"next_page":null,"prev_page":null,"total_pages":1,"limit_value":10,"offset_value":0,"total_count":3,"first_page?":true,"last_page?":true}}}
