The research was based on a case study of a particular congregation and its perception of pluralism in value formation. The conclusion was drawn that pluralism in its most negative sense has infiltrated most Christian thinking. Six lessons were developed from a study of the moral teachings of A. M. Hills, an Oberlin College graduate who became a leading Nazarene educator and evangelist. Posttest results indicate the lessons had the desired results. The project concludes with observarions on Hills' moral theory and contemporary issues facing the Church of the Nazarene."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Miscellaneous"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["4f3e9d5f-fc19-4d44-a264-44b56604eb9a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791129255825899520,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:12:48.644Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:04:34Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T08:32:07Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"fa6ca2bd-b9ba-4d43-9de0-fb5eef061b9e","accessControl_ssim":["f6f76553-b6a5-4c0f-843c-466fdfec089a"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["The Eucharist and ecumenical ethics"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:04:33Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T05:17:07Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["d85ff94a-ccb0-4fd8-84b4-8cc763d9414f"],"hasLease_ssim":["70d7777b-69ae-45d6-b533-4634a4fd5364"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Andover Newton Theological School"],"advisor_tesim":["Meredith Handspicker"],"year_tesim":["1986"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Czeslaw Romuald Dziczek"],"publisher_tesim":["Andover Newton Theological School"],"subject_tesim":["Lord's Supper and Christian union","Sharing","Christian ethics","Forgiveness"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["Bread is life to the poor who must work for it, only to have it taken away. It was based on research gathered from the fields of Christian ethics, gerontology, decision-making, and interviews with those working through these decisions. Pre- and post-assessments measured participants' cognitive learnings. The five workshops dealt with group decision-making dynamics and alternatives, issues facing the aged, and options for care. Objectives were to contribute material beneficial to the participants. Goals were to educate participants on the issues of the aging, care options, and a process of ethical decision-making. This report recommends that local churches become intentional about ministering to the aged and their families."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["fc8e637d-6b92-421f-936e-4844dc981265"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791134401716813824,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:34:36.149Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T22:38:46Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T01:45:26Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"15df228f-3905-4f31-b42a-d5585be258f4","accessControl_ssim":["dd0047ac-5287-4ad6-b0f9-02a279a89d69"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Good genes: emerging values for science, religion and society"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T22:38:45Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-16T22:45:55Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["e78ad880-8175-4aa6-801e-564334c9a0a6"],"hasLease_ssim":["09ce36b1-541b-4b8e-b2b0-1799d9d6f002"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Episcopal Divinity School"],"advisor_tesim":["Hayden McCallum","John H Snow"],"year_tesim":["1985"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Colin B Gracey"],"keyword_tesim":["BioChristian ethics education of adults"],"publisher_tesim":["Episcopal Divinity School"],"subject_tesim":["Christian ethics","Christian education","Philosophical anthropology","Education--Curricula"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This dissertation-project is a group study guide and resource for ethical deliberation and discussion about issues raised by recent developments in molecular biology, genetics and technology as these affect humankind.
