The research includes a detailed analysis of the biblical data as well as a glimpse at the author's research of his own congregation. Corinthians II","Christian life","Christian stewardship"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["Giving is one of the most effective forms of worship we have available to us, but it has become the most exploitive and misunderstood element of the worship service. The methods and language used to frame giving within worship have led to exploitation resulting in unwillingness to wholeheartedly participate in giving as an element of worship. The literature addressing giving and the biblical interpretations are lacking in accurately speaking to the issues that arise in applying Old and New Testament scripture to address giving as an element of worship. There are a growing number of articles attempting to address the covetous nature involved in the methods and language used in inviting people to give to God. This work evaluated the giving practice in Blessed Harvest Institute by evaluating some Old and New Testament scriptures and determining how the interpretations are to be applied in the methods and language used to frame the giving experience in the worship service. Leviticus 27:30-33, Deuteronomy 14:22-29, Malachi 3, Acts 3-5, 2 Corinthians 8-9, and other scriptures were used to understand the methods and language of giving biblically. Giving is to be a freewill expression of worship executed in an environment of liberty. It is necessary to reframe the concept of tithing not to be an obligation but a personal choice to express worship to God. Any prompting will remove worship from giving. The equipping model was a relevant and applicable model to meet the needs addressed by this project. The project director selected a team of leaders from Blackhawk Ministries to be trained in biblical discipleship skills. In preparation for that training the project director researched the field of discipleship, built an annotated bibliography, and developed a list of core competencies to be incorporated into a curriculum created to equip the selected leaders. Three specific goals guided the course of the project. Those goals were to (1) research the field of discipleship to identify core biblical discipleship competencies, (2) develop a curriculum to equip selected leaders, and (3) equip selected leaders with discipleship competencies. To ensure the meeting of these goals, the project director utilized curriculum design training, research, expert evaluators, rubrics, checklists, evaluation forms, and training sessions. To accomplish this purpose, the project director first conducted research in the area of adult discipleship. From his research, he identified four competencies that he determined are essential to effective disciple-making, namely gospel competency, head competency, heart competency, and hands competency. He then created a four-session curriculum based on the identified competencies in order to equip a small group of selected adults in the are of discipleship. He implemented the curriculum in four one-hour meetings over the course of four weeks. The project director enlisted the help of experts in the fields of disciple-making and curriculum design in order to ensure the quality and success of the project. In a self-appraisal survey, congregational leaders ranked Great Commission obedience low among ministry priorities.  This project investigated the question: Can a pastoral approach in expounding Romans 6-8 be effective in developing a Great Commission theology and in advancing Great Commission obedience for select leaders at Mayfield Missionary Baptist Church, Fort Worth, Texas.  The project pursues two goals: 1) to develop the theology of the participants and 2) to develop pastoral preaching effectiveness.        The research design combined both the qualitative and quantitative method.  The writer designed seven sermons from Romans 6-8 in a series entitled Gospel Assurance, a Motivation to Great Commission Obedience. The writer expounded selected doctrinal themes from the Biblical text to develop elements of a Great Commission theology in the participants.  Using a pastoral approach, the writer selected eight congregational leaders to participate in a small group to give feedback on the preaching effectiveness.  In addition, the participants completed a pre and post project questionnaire to indicate theological understanding, opinion surveys, and interviews.  The writer assessed the participants’ awareness, attitudes and actions in relation to the Matthew 28:18-20 mandate to make disciples.      The writer diagnosed the participants’ gain in theological understanding and simultaneously increased pastoral preaching effectiveness through small group feedback. This has not only stunted the growth of the church but led to an ineffective and limited mission vision. The contemporary American church must reclaim the biblical mandate to be both ethnically diverse and missionally minded. Through a qualitative research methodology this research project focuses on creating a healthy and sustainable multiethnic identity and leadership structure. Through interviewing and visiting some of the leading multiethnic churches of the Central Valley of California, the researcher lays out a clear understanding and argument for multiethnic churches. This paper examines the book of Acts, interviewing insights from key pastoral leaders, and provides a key table and summary of actionable next steps.The insights from the book of Acts reveals that God’s original intent for the church is to be both multiethnic and missional. Contemporary literature highlights the necessary traits and qualities for healthy and sustainable leadership. The researcher conducted a thorough investigation of Scripture and current biblical material in order to discern the barriers existing within the missional movement. The researcher looked at key areas that shape the missional church planting movement: leadership development, theological interpretation of the early church, church planting methods and practice, ecclesiology, and the application and interpretation of Ephesians 4:11. Four church planting organizations participated: North American Mission Board, Acts 29 Network, Association of Related Churches, and Converge Worldwide. At Plymouth Covenant Church, ministry leaders recognized that young parents often lacked a biblical foundation. Many did not feel competent to lead their children spiritually. These parents needed a vibrant personal faith as well as good role models. As a result, ministry leaders designed a more effective way to empower parents as spiritual mentors for their children. They created a new ministry that would provide personal faith development for parents, a supportive faith community, family-focused programming, and solid biblical teaching. This new ministry was a family version of Awana that they called Awana Together.The problem that this project addressed was the need for a family ministry model at Plymouth Covenant Church that fostered a partnership between the church and families that empowered parents as spiritual mentors for their children. It used an intrinsic case study approach to evaluate Plymouth Covenant’s unique ministry, Awana Together, to determine if it provided a pathway for a better partnership between the home and the church in empowering parents as spiritual mentors. The research included evaluations of biblical passages and current scholarship, surveys of past and present Awana Together participants, focus group discussions with ministry leaders, and in-depth questionnaire responses from three different families. First, the project director researched the field of team ministry through the creation of an annotated bibliography, focusing on the topics of team ministry and leadership. The information gathered from the annotated bibliography was used to create a report on best team ministry practices. Second, the project director utilized this information to develop a team ministry workshop. This workshop was comprised of four sessions that were each divided into two parts. The dynamics of church growth were stated as a guide for faithfulness.  A survey among four Chinese churches in the U.S. east coast region was conducted, and another in a local Chinese church in Knoxville among its attendees was also conduct.
