The project was evaluated based on the standard of how well the emphasis deepened one's love for God and for one another. In a two-phase process, the project director equipped a small group of church members, who then discipled another individual. Theologically, the basis of the project stems from Jesus' training of His disciples, with additional references to Paul's training of disciples like Timothy.  The project director worked to develop a disciple-making team in a local church historically weak in informed, intentional disciple making.  As a result of the project, the participants formed a team to plan and implement a discipleship strategy for the church. I used the explanatory method and the questionnaires in this project.  In chapter one, I introduced the Emmaus Korean UMC: demographic data, programs, ministry, mission, and organization.  In the second chapter, I showed the biblical concepts of discipleship in the Old and New Testaments.  In the third chapter, I dealt with the contemporary practices of discipleship training.  In the fourth chapter, I made a research through using the survey method with questionnaires.  In the fifth chapter, the conclusion is made.  All in all, I emphasized that the discipleship training has been tremendously influencing the growth of Emmaus Korean UMC, spiritually and quantitatively. The field for this discipleship is the literary structure of the gospel of Matthew.  The participants were five disciple-makers within the Trinity United Methodist Church of Gibsonburg, Ohio.
