Five members of TCC attended six seminars over a two-year period, learning philosophy and methods of disciple-making, church growth, and project management. The project then monitored the church's progress through surveys and attendance records. The Soul Friend Model calls each participant to a three-month commitment to be paired with another person who seeks to learn discipleship. The project accomplished growth in specific areas of devotional life, Christian relationships, evangelism, and ministry through the local church. This project assists a small group of Christians to grow in knowledge and understanding of the Sermon on the Mount, demonstrating and applying this knowledge and understanding in their lives. This project produces a study guide to be used by group members in daily family instruction. Weekly learning activities involve entire families in discipleship, supplemented by a sermon series in the local church. The New Testament Epistles offer a unique model of discipleship for the church as well as content for discipleship training. The project develops a paradigm from the Epistles, which it then implements and evaluates for its effectiveness.
