The author reviews biblical passages and other literature related to worship to support the proposition. He uses a case study of corporate worship gatherings at three churches in the Northwestern United States. Site visits, interviews and surveys suggest how God-centered corporate worship motivates people to grow as followers of Jesus Christ. The thesis identifies elements that consistently serve the biblical functions of worship. It was anticipated that completing the discipleship programs researched would strengthen participants' spiritual health in each of the six areas measured. It was discovered that the only area in which the programs studied strengthened maturing participants' spiritual health was that of 'Committed to the Lost.' Other significant discoveries were made concerning the affect of gender, church size and age on spiritual health. Significant contributors to spiritual health were also discovered. The outcome will be to have Christians observing everything that Jesus had commanded, which is the second part of the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20).  The project started with an examination of disciple-making disciplines and strategy-planning techniques in general.  The list resulting from this research became the basis for developing a strategy for making disciples for First Baptist Church, Wauchula.  Upon completion, the strategy was approved by church staff and the strategy-development team. This project is an attempt to develop a strategy for effective disciple-making and leadership development in a college town church that has a very high turnover rate and a big potential to reach out to scholars from China. In a six month period ideas of the proposed approach were communicated to three groups of participants in multiple sessions of the groups' regular meetings to test the new model's effectiveness. So many Christians do not experience the peace joy and love of Jesus because they do not have that point of connection with Jesus. Spiritual Disciplines are the greatest means to grow in intimacy and relationship with Jesus Christ. As a result, eleven various Spiritual Disciplines were presented to First Baptist Church, Alexandria, Indiana. The disciplines included in this project were: Journaling, service, bible reading, celebration, meditation, silence and solitude, confession, prayer, worship, fasting, and fellowship. The Spiritual Disciplines were presented to the church through preaching and Sunday School. It develops on the assumption that Discipleship for leadership provides the biblical basis for developing disciples who go on to become disciple-makers. Although time restraint makes it impossible to measure the effectiveness of this study in developing disciples who go on to become disciple-makers, this evaluation measures an individual's growth in conviction, intentionality, and resolve for making disciples. These factors include: spiritual preparation, leadership buy-in, the on-going communication of vision and philosophy, a healthy launch, congregational buy-in and successfully passing on the philosophical DNA of making disciples. The on-going communication of vision and philosophy was determined to be the most critical factor in this change process. This study also relates these factors to John Kotter's eight-stage process of change from his book Leading change (1996). The author suggests that this rejection of metanarrative is partly responsible for the 'silent exodus.'
