The discipleship in this project is a culmination of research in the Bible, a survey of historical and contemporary literature, the surveying of two para-church collegiate ministries and two local churches, along with the feedback of a focus group. Discipleship is found to be personal dedication to a lifelong, intergenerational journey with a local church.  The preaching ministry is gifted by Jesus to accomplish three main goals: 1) works of service, 2) unity in the faith, and 3) knowledge of the Son of God (Eph 4:11-13). Within this scope, three areas are studied from the angle of biblical interpretation.  First, theology: this part discusses important teachings of Jesus regarding the truth and the clarification of theological concepts.  Second, scriptural annotation: this part discusses three contextual dimensions: Scripture, the key people (Jesus, the disciples, etc.), and the historical background, as well as the interaction between the three dimensions.
