The author seeks to give clarity to a theological basis for Christian motivations in giving.  The general thesis of this project is derived from biblical material.  The author argues that the mandates for Christian discipleship are necessarily inclusive of the biblical principles of giving. Twenty-three lectures were presented in Bible study sessions in a congregational context. The biblical concept, based on the word, 'oikonomia,' traces God's plan of stewardship from creation to living-out Jesus' teachings. Historical and informational STVIM material was combined with the personal experience of the author in leading STVIM teams. The material was evaluated by 55 persons related to STVIM. The thesis that stewardship is a 'Christ-believer partnership in redeemed life' is developed through five worship experiences and five training sessions for the stewardship council.  Parables, in Luke's gospel, interpreted by means of the literary criticism praxis approach, which utilizes a case study method, gives shape to the educational framework.
