Through the change of evangelical ethos and attitude, the EFC has a pressing opportunity to present the gospel to an audience who believes in a system of social cohesiveness dependent upon personal virtue and self-control. For Confucius and the Confucian Chinese, society's harmony relies upon the appropriate behavior (li) of each individual within the social hierarchy. Confucianism's emphasis on practical ethics has led to a society governed by secular philosophy without the need of religion."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["31b95ee0-a31c-43dc-8ec9-d97b30239a2d"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791131466326867968,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:47:56.743Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T13:02:51Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:48:51Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"0c655979-38fd-43ed-837f-2c837f307e09","accessControl_ssim":["b855c69a-58e3-4ba7-88c4-973d229d00a8"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Genesis 1-3 as an evangelistic apologetic methodology to engage the worldviews of Chinese intellectuals and the Chinese ministry in America"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T13:02:50Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-16T22:28:00Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["17f8fd1f-6ae7-451a-a7dc-1d35d1cdc6ea"],"hasLease_ssim":["a2b3fcb7-a8bb-4417-ac54-ed30fbe6a154"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["David Lewis Allen"],"year_tesim":["2009"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Phil Cheng-Ping Chiang"],"publisher_tesim":["Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Apologetics","Bible. The declaration of the self-existent and transcendent creator God in the opening statement of chapter one functions as the theological cornerstone of all biblical revelation. The theological framework and biblical doctrines from Genesis 1-3, set a stage of God's historical and eschatological plan for all humanity. With the socio-political openness and rapid economic growth that has recently occurred, more Chinese people have become capable of going overseas to study, vacation, work, or migrate. Many intellectuals and new immigrants have experienced Christianity and the culture of local Chinese churches in the United States. College campuses and their surrounding cities have become new 'mission fields' where evangelistic apologetic work becomes imperatively and strategically significant. A study of Genesis 1-3 focusing on biblical doctrines will help Chinese intellectuals and immigrants to reevaluate their embedded Chinese traditional thought, philosophy, Confucianism and atheistic worldview. Equipping Chinese pastors and Bible teachers to use Genesis 1-3 as the preaching and teaching materials to Chinese intellectuals who are in Chinese churches in the United States is one of the preeminent evangelistic apologetic strategies."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["b2ad2862-737d-4dde-8145-b9b6962ac5f3"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791131527195656192,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:48:54.792Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T22:54:23Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T02:11:07Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"0b9cdcda-27ba-4649-b452-3e3210be3e9e","accessControl_ssim":["cb1ad1f1-417b-45d5-9ff5-ef62e4a27a31"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["The philosophy of Mencius and its significance for Christian mission"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T22:54:23Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-16T22:26:26Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["372a2649-5d60-403f-857b-4933fcf97c11"],"hasLease_ssim":["63dc8fd6-c5b4-479c-92ad-a259c4803a88"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Phillips Theological Seminary"],"year_tesim":["1986"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Ming-Hu Lin"],"keyword_tesim":["Theology, Chinese"],"publisher_tesim":["Phillips Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Theological anthropology","Christianity and Confucianism","Theology, Contextual","Mencius, 371?-289?
