'Readiness' is from Tillich: when part of our culture, we reflect trust and hope about 'God's new thing.' Leaders must look past resources and inspire cultural change, pursuing of God's way. Thus while the Igbo naming ceremony makes one an Igbo, the rite of baptism makes one a Christian.  The author analyzed the Anglican rite of baptismal ritual as it is contained in The Book of Common Prayer in the light of Turner's theory of rituals.  He used missional theology as a lens to examine the rite of baptism in the Igbo context of eastern Nigeria. The Anishinaabek understanding of the creator, Gichi-Manidoo, their experiences and relationship with Gichi-Manidoo, are important topics to explore. Fifteen Anishinaabe graduates of a ministries program are interviewed on a range of topics. The phenomenological qualitative research methodology is uniquely suited for exploring such insights. Contributions from scholars of the early nineteenth century offer a dialogue with experiences of participants. The method of study used was the Pro-Active qualitative research method described in William Myers' book, Research in ministry: a primer for the Doctor of Ministry program.
